On the 30th, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the “2024 First New Technology (NET) and New Product (NEP) Certification Ceremony” at the Hall of Fame in the Korea Industrial Technology Association building.
Certificates were awarded to 20 innovative new technologies and 9 new products. The NET and NEP certification systems recognize technologies that are either developed for the first time in Korea or represent significant improvements on existing technologies, as well as products that have been successfully commercialized based on these technologies.
In the NET category, 20 technologies—including a method to remove impurities from metal masks (FMM) used in OLED RGB light emission—were selected from 116 applications. In the NEP category, 9 products—including an AI-powered X-ray security inspection device—were chosen from 138 applications.
Park Jae-young, Director of the Conformity Policy Bureau, said, “We will provide active support such as investment attraction and financial aid so that certified technologies and products can be commercialized early and used as a growth ladder for SMEs to scale up into mid-sized exporting companies.”
NET Certification Recipients included: - Electronics & Electrical: HVM Co. (vacuum fusion refining technology for Invar alloys used in OLED FMMs), Ecolant Co. (smart road lighting control using triple PIR sensors), T-Cure Co. (endoscopic catheter manufacturing with omnidirectional light exposure), HooverTech & Sunil Elecom (jointly developed PLC technology for LED lighting). - ICT: NP Core Co. (deep learning–based RGB image malware detection), Oliplanet Co. (web-based data streaming using 3D surface projection), Paros Co. (capsule network-based shortcut routing for video recognition). - Machinery & Materials: Gubimeta Co. (excavator operator training simulator), Link Solution Co. (large-scale SLA 3D printing with high-speed recoating), Saeun Tech Co. (vehicle recognition technology for parking control), Youngshin Special Steel Co. (surface reinforcement casting for high-manganese steel). - Chemicals & Bio: MicroComposite Co. (eco-friendly machining oil using hexagonal boron nitride), IMGT Co. (non-thermal ultrasound transducer design), OV Medi Co. (implantable bi-directional filament for osteoarthritis pain relief), EZ Diatek Co. (biomarker-based brain disease diagnosis), AbClon Inc. (CAR-T therapy for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma), EdenLUX Co. (fluid lens for presbyopia correction). - Construction & Environment: Seohu Art Development Co. (earthquake-resistant exterior panel structure), Yangsu Metal Co. (powder metallurgy one-touch insert), Samsung Electronics (low-ozone hybrid electrostatic precipitator for fine dust removal).
NEP Certification Recipients included: - Electronics & Electrical: MI K-Scan Co. (AI-based dual-energy X-ray scanner), Inter-M Co. (low-latency network audio amplifier), Korea Semiconductor Lighting Co. (high-efficiency LED lighting with vortex-induced heat sinks). - Telecommunications: Inspien Co. (enterprise EDI SaaS with OSGi), Caratfund Co. (3D visualization software for cultural heritage measurement). - Machinery & Materials: Bumseok Engineering Co. (refrigerant recovery/recycling system for chillers). - Chemicals & Bio: Curiosis Co. (microfluidic chip for cell separation using micro-lattice structures). - Construction & Environment: Nabi System Co. (sealed PS window system with curved rails), Coating Korea Co.
